30+ Awesome Linux Games to Look Forward to in 2019

2018 was filled with a lot of good news for game lovers – a trend which became significant in 2017 and now that 2019 is here we are certain that the best is yet to come.

There are several game titles which were not available to Linux gamers last year but because 2019 looks promising, check out the games you might be enjoying this new season.

1. Mosaic

Mosaic is a 3D adventure seemingly horror game with 2D puzzle elements from the same guys who brought us Among the Sleep, Krillbite Studio.

2. Stoneshard

Stoneshard is a turn-based RPG in which you explore vast hostile procedurally-generated medieval and manage your caravan while struggling to stay alive and maintain your sanity. “Embark on an epic journey and decide the fate of a kingdom in this grim adventure!”

3. Voxel Tycoon

Voxel Tycoon is a strategy game where you play as a construction tycoon with the purpose of building complex transport systems, factories, companies, etc.

4. Jon Shafer’s At the Gates

From Jon Shafer, the designer of Civilization 5, At the Gates is an indie strategy game where you play as the dark age lord tasked with building a kingdom to replace the crumbling Roman Empire. In it, you manage clans, explore the surrounding lands, etc in order to build a giant economy and military power.

5. The First Men

11. DiRT 4

With DiRT 4, Codemasters have sought to combine the levels of thrill and realism from last year’s DiRT Rally with the fearless excitement, accessibility and adrenaline-fuelled races previously seen in its critically acclaimed prequels DiRT 2 and DiRT 3.

12. KURSK

20. We Happy Few

We Happy Few is the tale of a plucky bunch of moderately terrible people trying to escape from a lifetime of cheerful denial in the city of Wellington Wells. You’ll have to fight or blend in with the drug-addled inhabitants, most of whom don’t take kindly to people who won’t abide by their not-so-normal rules.

21. Total War: THREE KINGDOMS

22. Insurgency: Sandstorm

Off Grid is a 3rd person stealth hacking game where data is your most powerful weapon. Off Grid forgoes combat for hacking tools and ingenuity, and is completely moddable.

27. Barotrauma

28. Shadow of the Tomb Raider

30. Overland

Overland is a squad-based survival strategy game with procedurally generated levels set in post-apocalyptic North America. Every random level is full of close calls and hard choices, even though the interface is approachable and easy to learn. Manage fuel supplies, weapons, and other items by making the right choices on the procedural roadmaps. A road trip straight into the heart of the cataclysmic event that changed the Earth forever.

31. In The Valley of Gods

In the Valley of Gods is a single-player first-person video game set in Egypt in the 1920s. You play as an explorer and filmmaker who, along with your old partner, has travelled to the middle of the desert in the hopes of making a seemingly-impossible discovery and an incredible film.

In The Valley of Gods will hopefully be released this year to all the major desktop platforms and if you enjoy games with well-written stories then this one is for you.
